The Icom IP504H (model IP504H-32-USA) is an advanced LTE IP transceiver providing instant push-to-talk communication with voice and data across North and Latin America, including the USA, Canada, Mexico, and select Latin American countries. Operating on Icom’s private, secure server network with a custom Global SIM card, the IP504H eliminates the need for radio licensing. It supports full-duplex communication, 900mW audio output, IP67 waterproofing, built-in GPS, Bluetooth, and advanced safety features including emergency calling, Man Down, and Lone Worker. Comes supplied with antenna, BP272 battery, and MB135 belt clip.
Important: The IP504H supports only the Connect “Global” SIM and cannot communicate with radios using the Connect “US” (AT&T) SIM.

No. The IP504H operates over LTE (4G) cellular networks using Icom’s private Global SIM — no FCC radio license is required. A Global SIM service plan is required for operation.
What is the difference between the IP504H and the IP501H?
The IP501H uses a standard carrier SIM (AT&T/US) and operates on public LTE networks. The IP504H uses Icom’s proprietary Connect “Global” SIM on a private, closed server network, providing broader North and Latin America coverage and greater network security. The two models cannot communicate with each other.
Is the IP504H waterproof?
Yes. The IP504H carries an IP67 rating — dust-tight and submersible to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. It also features AquaQuake, a water-draining function that vibrates the speaker to expel water and restore audio clarity after submersion.
Can the IP504H communicate with traditional two-way radios?
Yes, with additional infrastructure. Using the VE-PG4 RoIP gateway, the IP504H can interconnect with IDAS™ digital transceivers and legacy analog radio systems.
