Motorola CP100d Portable Two-Way Radio | Analog & Digital (DMR)

Description

Flexible Portable Communication for Analog and Digital Fleets

The Motorola CP100d offers a practical entry point into professional DMR digital communication while supporting existing analog fleets. Choose an analog-only or digital/analog model, then select the band and keypad configuration that suit your team.

Available in UHF (403–480 MHz) and VHF (136–174 MHz), the CP100d delivers 4W UHF or 5W VHF output. Non-keypad models offer straightforward 16-channel operation, while limited- and full-keypad models provide a display and 160 channels. The IP54-rated enclosure protects against dust and splashes during everyday workplace use.

Custom programming requires a compatible Windows PC, the Motorola PMKN4128A programming cable, and MOTOTRBO CPS 2.0 software. The cable and software are sold separately.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Analog-to-digital migration: Digital models support analog and DMR operation. Analog-only models require the separately sold digital upgrade key to enable DMR features.
  • Dual Capacity Direct Mode: Supports increased calling capacity in suitable TDMA digital configurations without adding a repeater.
  • IP54 protection: Dust and splash resistance for everyday workplace conditions.
  • Digital audio: Voice processing helps teams communicate around background noise.
  • Transmit Interrupt (Decode): Supports interruption of a transmission in appropriately configured digital systems.
  • Keypad options: Choose no keypad, limited keypad, or full keypad to match the operator's needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Motorola CP100d need to be programmed?

Yes. Configure the radio for your fleet's frequencies and operating settings before use. You can order Atlantic Radio Programming Services, or program it yourself using a Motorola PMKN4128A programming cable and Motorola HKVN4362A MOTOTRBO CPS 2.0 software license on a compatible Windows PC. Programming services, cable, and software are sold separately.

Does the programming cable include software?

No. The PMKN4128A is the physical programming cable only. CPS 2.0 software is sold separately. The cable is for programming and data, not charging.

Can I upgrade an analog-only CP100d to digital later?

Yes. The separately sold Motorola HKVN4892A digital upgrade license enables DMR features on eligible analog-only CP100d radios. Each radio requires its own license. Programming software alone does not unlock digital operation.

Can I use the CM200d or CM300d programming cable?

Use the PMKN4128A cable listed for the CP100d, rather than the PMKN4147A cable used for the CM200d and CM300d mobile radios.

Can analog and digital CP100d models communicate?

They can communicate in analog mode when their bands, frequencies, and channel settings match. DMR communication requires digital-enabled radios with matching digital settings.
