The Motorola HAD4022A is a professional-grade VHF mobile antenna designed to maximize signal range and clarity for vehicle-based radio systems. Operating across the full 132–174 MHz band, this 5/8 wave antenna provides a significant 3.0dB gain boost compared to standard unity-gain antennas. Its signal radiates with a vertical pattern, making it exceptionally effective in "urban canyons" where tall buildings and geographic obstructions typically degrade radio performance. Built for permanent installation, the HAD4022A utilizes a through-hole mounting style that requires a 3/4" hole in the vehicle’s roof or a dedicated right-angle bracket. The antenna comes as a complete kit, including approximately 12 feet of low-loss coaxial cable and a loose Mini-UHF male connector for custom-length termination.
