This powerful function allows multiple HM782 mobile radios to be linked across a standard Ethernet or IP network (such as the Internet, a private LAN, or a wireless link like Starlink). By using the radio as a compact gateway, organizations can bridge geographically separated sites—hundreds or even thousands of miles apart—without the high cost and complexity of a traditional multi-site repeater system.
In IP Transit mode, one radio acts as a "Master" while others act as "Slaves," creating a cohesive communication net where any voice or data transmission at one site is instantly relayed to all other connected sites. This is an ideal solution for connecting remote offices, temporary command posts, or fleet dispatch centers using a single frequency across the entire network.
