The Icom FR5300 (VHF: 136–174 MHz) and Icom FR6300 (UHF: 330–400, 400–470, 450–512 MHz) are second-generation IDAS digital repeaters built on an advanced CPU/FPGA hardware platform. Designed for commercial enterprise, public safety, utility, and industrial communications, these 19-inch 2U rack-mount mainframes deliver up to 50 Watts of RF output power at 50% duty cycle or 25 Watts continuous operation at 100% duty cycle.
Engineered with an internal secondary bay, both the FR5300 and FR6300 allow for the installation of an optional secondary RF channel module (URFR5300 or URFR6300), enabling two independent repeaters to operate simultaneously within a single chassis. The series features 32 memory channels with a 12-digit alphanumeric display, built-in 5-Tone and DTMF signaling, a rear D-Sub 25-pin accessory port, and high frequency stability (±0.1 ppm with GNSS). When equipped with the optional UCFR5300 network controller board, these repeaters seamlessly expand from single-site conventional operation into multi-site conventional networks, Type-D digital trunking, or IDAS digital simulcast systems operating under FCC Licensing standards.
